Scrubs Project for NHS

Like many other clubs, The Lions Club of Fairlop have been playing their part in supporting the NHS and its workers during this Covid 19 Pandemic. The club are currently undertaking two key projects in their local area. One of the projects is making ‘SCRUBS’ for two local hospitals which are desperately in need of these important protective uniforms. The cut material is delivered by a third-party organisation and then given out to sew. Lion Paul Chakravarti’s wife Pali has co-ordinated a team of Ladies to undertake the sewing and the first batch of 125 scrubs uniforms were delivered on 24th April 2020. The ladies doing the sewing are Pali, Lion Surjit Chodda from Fairlop Lions, Lion Daljit Jheeta of Wanstead and Woodford Lions, Kulwinder Soora (wife of Lion Amarjit Soora), and Tajinder Bhachu (sister-in-law of Lion Paul Chakravarti) and are all pictured below. Lion Paul and Lion Surjit’s son Sarwan proudly model the finished product.

The club are extremely grateful to Pali, our fellow Lions, and the rest of the team for this invaluable work which is providing very important personal protection for the doctors and nurses of the NHS.
